About
A tool we wanted, built small, on purpose.
Most analytics teams I know have a Cloud Function or a Cloud Run service somewhere that catches a webhook from Stripe or HubSpot and shoves it into the warehouse. It's always a little wrong. It eats credentials. It dies on payload changes. Nobody owns it.
Workflow tools can technically do this job, but they price for team automations. Customer data platforms are built around product analytics, not arbitrary webhooks. ETL tools pull; webhooks push. Hooktopus is the missing piece — purpose-built for the one job nobody else makes simple.
The wedge is dbt. Other tools either drop you in a JSON column and walk away or force you into their own transformation layer. Hooktopus generates the same staging SQL you'd hand-write — which means the second a payload changes you find out, regenerate, and ship it through your normal review process. Your dbt repo stays the source of truth.
We've kept the surface area small on purpose. No workflow builder. No identity resolution. No fan-out to ten destinations. One thing, done well.

Operating values
What we believe.
Pricing is honest.
Tiered, transparent, no surprise overage. No "contact us" until $300/mo. You always know your bill.
Documentation is a feature.
If you can self-serve the whole product without ever talking to us, we did our job right. Hidden APIs are a tell.
Your data, your warehouse.
We don't hold your events hostage. Everything lives in your own warehouse; you can leave and take it with you any time.
Small surface, deep polish.
We'd rather ship one feature that's better than every competitor's version than five features that match.
Built for analysts, not architects.
If a data analyst can't set up Hooktopus in an afternoon without help, we've lost. No DevOps required.
Boring tech, on purpose.
Tools that have been around a decade tend to be reliable. We're not chasing novelty for novelty's sake.
